Diddy's Country is peacefully set in midst of a centuries-old Olive Grove. You can enjoy nature at it's best, the gardens are extensive, there is a choice of al-fresco dining areas and the apartments terrace is very large and romantic. You can enjoy the olive grove's own produce, our extra-virgin olive oil. Historic cities, such as Ostuni, Alberobello, Grottaglie, Lecce, Otranto are located between 20 minutes and 1 hour drive away. Stretched over 10 acres the property boasts a tennis court with flood lights, internal roads, a large salt-water infinity pool with paddling pool (there is an infra-red pool fence), football goal, pedal go-carts, bicycles, trampoline (at your own risk), playground and table tennis! It's a paradise for children and adults alike. The pool area is surrounded by nature and natural shade. The property has two separate apartments on two floors, each apartment is rented exclusively and the other apartment will remain closed unless you book both. This (smaller) apartment features 2 bedrooms, a newly refurbished kitchen a bathroom and a large romantic terrace overlooking the grove. If you are a larger party, please let us know.

Alessandro, my husband and the owner, was born in Brindisi, the land/house has been in his family for generations. Alessandro studied at Bocconi University in Milan and then moved to London. Alexandra (myself) is Swiss, was born in Lausanne and lived 10 years in Basel, before moving to Frankfurt, Zurich, London where she met Alessandro. Together we have two lovely children, Raffaele and Lara who were born in London. They love Diddy's Country and Lara becomes completely wild when she is there, we only see her when she is hungry or tired. She is the mum to our cats who freely roam the estate and come to see us for food and for love. Lara has also been passionately taking riding lessons at the local riding school from the age of 3.5, she is now 13 years old. Raffaele enjoys the beach, the pool, football, go-cart (pedal) and the trampoline. His sister joins him for all activities but football! They absolutely love to play with other kids. Alessandro and I are passionate about our own olive oil, the local food / produce, we love the slow food movement and the local artisans and artists which we feature in the house. We like to discover new beaches and to try out new restaurants.

Pretty much on our doorsteps you can start to see the famous Trullis, the cone shaped typical houses from Apulia. From the country roads you can also appreciate the many Masserias or fortified farm houses of the region. Diddy's Country is just outside San Vito (1KM) and in the midst of Olive trees. We grow local fruit and vegetables, which can be picked for your own consumption. The beaches are 15-20 minutes away by car, they are all quite different from each other, Specchiolla has got various beaches (mostly sandy, some rocky for jumps) and are very safe for small kids. There is a nature reserve park with a beautiful beach at Torre Guacceto. Some local producers are exceptional, we can recommend the local pasta shop (they grow their own grain for flour) and the local mozzarella shop (caseificio), just to name a few, are our favourites. There are good restaurants aplenty and I am sure that we haven't even begun to discover them all!
