Are you tired of hotels that look pretty much all the same? Have you had enough of cold, impersonal courtesy? Do you appreciate historic houses furnished with original antiques? Are you in search of a 'home away from home' to spend time and relax with your family and friends, surrounded by lush countryside? Villa Sogara is the place to be! Villa Sogara is an ancient historic house that was purchased by my family in 1929. However the history of the villa is much longer: parts of the house were built during the Middle Ages over the ruins of a Roman settlement, and the villa was finished, except for a few minor details, around the half of the 1400s. Guests come here to spend a vacation in a true piece of history, and also for many activities like food and wine tours, art history, museums, Opera, and so on.
This villa was bought by my great-grandparents in 1929. Now it's my duty to preserve it in good shape for the "next generations" and to share it with those who appreciate this kind of historic house and look for the charm and tranquility of the Italian countryside. I had great days staying here with my grandfather when I was a child, and I hope that you will be able to have such a good time too.
Villa Sogara offers many advantages to its guests. The building is located in the countryside, surrounded by beautiful vineyards, so privacy is ensured; at the same time, the historic center of Verona can be reached in 20 minutes, and you can be on the Autostrada in about 8 minutes: Lake Garda and Vicenza are 35 minutes away, Mantova is 40 minutes away, Padova can be reached in 45 minutes and Venice in 1 hour. With the new high speed railway lines also Florence and Milan are an easy destination for a daily trip. For children, the private swimming pool of the villa is a special treat, plus they have the opportunity to go to many theme parks and aqua parks in the area. Golf courses are about 40 minutes away. Our guests have the possibility to attend visits to high quality wineries of the Valpolicella appellation, with tastings of excellent Valpolicella, Ripasso, Recioto and Amarone wines. Verona of course offers all its beauties, like the house of Giulietta, the Roman Amphitheater ("Arena") with its worldwide famous Opera Festival, the museum of Castelvecchio, along with many important international fairs (Vinitaly, Fieracavalli, Marmomacc).
