The accommodation is lovely, with spacious rooms, comfy tatami beds, and traditional pyjamas provided. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast is excellent. There's an onsen onsite and other options nearby. An excellent dinner is available at a reasonable price. Also, Tommy's Burger is across the street. I read that some people commented on the location not being good. I'm not too sure what they were expecting. It's only a 15-10 minute walk from the ski field, and some equipment providers let you store your gear at the base, so it's a pretty easy walk. I highly recommend this accommodation and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is cosy, rooms are charming and having the toilet there was very convenient. The location is good, not too far from the center of the village. We had a car and there was a parking lot across the street from the hotel. The hosts are kind and helpful, they changed my room when I requested because the first one was on the street side and we could hear the cars. The bathroom is shared, japanese style with onsen, and it was warm and clean. Both times I went, it was empty so just me. Very good value for money!

Shinazawa is a lovely traditional inn which has all the comforts you would expect in Japan from an inn of this type. The breakfast each day was excellent and varied and the hotel onsen/bath was very nice, though we also went out to the local public onsen as well. Our 4 people tatami room slept our family very comfortably each night. The inn is located a short walk from the heart of Nozawa. There is a laundry facility at the inn which was great mid way through our holiday when the ski socks needed a good wash. We left our ski gear at the rental place at the gondola (a great free perk!) so the morning and afternoon walk up to get ski ready was very pleasurable walking through the lovely village. We would definitely come back to Shinazawa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The lodge is a brief walk from the main street. It's family-owned, unpretentious, yet fully equipped to meet your needs. The room exceeded our expectations in terms of cleanliness and space. Despite my initial concerns about my back pain and sleeping on the floor, the futon provided surprising comfort. The breakfast and Onsen were delightful experiences. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Prior to our trip, we had to make several changes and I had numerous inquiries, all of which were met with patience and accommodation. I also appreciated the opportunity to practice my Japanese with the staff, who were gracious and supportive. Their assistance on our last day, when we encountered difficulty securing transportation to the train station, was truly above and beyond. Great price for on mountain accommodation. About 3 min walk to closest lift and there is also a free shuttle bus to the main gondola but was an easy up hill walk to the link chair. Great value for money. Would stay again the local family were helpful even though they were limited in English google translate helped a lot.
