Hi everyone. I'm Daisuke Izumi. I'll start running the Guest house in Tokawa coming this autumn. I've been living here in Choshi. I was born here too. Tokawa is a fishing village from the EDO-era. As many of you may know, Choshi was known as a huge and famous fishing village that has since become very prosperous. To this day, there are many fishermen and their families still living in Choshi. In the past 6 months, thanks to volunteers who are not only from Choshi but also outside --who have contributed significantly by helping me renovate the guest house --I'm glad to say that we'll soon be open for business. When I began this new challenge, it was important for me that: 1. people from a diverse group with a mix of eclectic experiences could come together (as long as we shared the same or similar goals) 2. And that through this effort we could collaborate and share our collective knowledge and skill set 3. to create place which we can be proud of and is one of a kind.
