We had a wonderful stay at Jaichy, which is located on a farm. The host family was very kind and welcoming. The yurt we slept in was large and comfortable. It had lights, a space heater and wifi. You can arrange for horseback riding and other activities. We chose to wander the dirt roads and into pastures, walking up toward the mountains. Stunning landscapes. The host family has their own museum which documents the political activities of the grandfather (who lives in the mountains) and also includes a display of traditional instruments and implements.

This yurt camp is in a stunning location. The view is gorgeous no matter where you look. It’s also located on a working farm so there were sheep and chickens all around. As a result, there can be poop anywhere so watch your step. There are also 2 little interesting museums at the camp. The first day, we walked to the next village and then cut back across the fields. It was beautiful and we met many interesting people and saw many donkeys and horses. The next day, we took an excursion into the mountains with a guide that was arranged by the yurt camp for us. We also ate all our meals on site and they were delicious!! I would, however, let the owners know about any dietary preferences or restrictions as you will basically eat what the family eats. Finally, our hosts helped us arrange our return to Bishkek and drove us out and waited with us for the bus.
