The hotel greatly exceeded my expectations. It is a luxurious resort, right by the sea; from my balcony, I had a beautiful view of the bay. There is a fine infinity pool, as well as other facilities; and the food is excellent. Boats are available nearby to visit other parts of the island. The hotel is near a spice garden and an insectarium, but is located away from the busier parts of the coast; at the same time, it is only a short drive from Penang.

Basic facilities are NOT WORKING.
-Shower head holder is loose and the shower head fell and hit my 5yrs old son on the head!!
-TV can’t be used during our 3D2N stay!!
-AC remote wasn’t working. Replace new remote also the same. We have to turn on and off the AC manually and can’t adjust the temperature or fan speed.
-Plug point doesn’t work. Can’t charge our handphone and other devices.
-Cockoo water machine doesn’t work. No water supply.
-Key card doesn’t work on our 2nd day. Staff said it’s expired!? Why do they only program the key for 1 night when our booking was for 2 nights.
-Swimming pool was closed for renovations for a long time but never updated in the list of available facilities.

service is great! upkeep of the hotel is surprisingly good considering that the hotel has been there for over 40 years. clearly, some improvements were done to the rooms and common areas so that they aren’t too dated and weary. it was nostalgic for me cos i remember swimming there when i was 9 and i’m very glad to see that they maintained good standards.

Beach and Fun in Penang
Batu Ferringhi is a combination of a beach resort packed with modern hotels and a tropical Asian paradise. Located in the Penang area of northern Malaysia, it is one of the biggest resorts of its kind in the country. Restaurants, shopping centres and numerous modern services and facilities are also available, along with its well-known ‘Pasar Malam’ or Night Market.
The strip along Jalan Batu Ferringhi Street is the main service area, and you’ll find a large variety of hotels on the beach, apartments and guest houses. The area can be divided in three different zones: Tanjung Bungah to the east, Batu Ferringhi itself, and the quieter Teluk Bahang to the west. Check the hotels map to see which area is the most convenient for you.
Things to do in the surroundings include the ‘Butterfly Farm’, home to a collection of thousands of beautiful specimens; and the ‘Spice Garden’, which features a lush landscape with a large variety of herbs and spices. The town is located only 16 km from the UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town’s historic centre.
It can be reached by bus, or via a 45-minute flight from Kuala Lumpur to Penang Airport. Before enjoying the sun and fun of Batu Ferringhi, don’t miss the accommodation deals available on Booking.com!

This is a rather conservative (no alcohol served or allowed, except in rooms) family-oriented facility that is somewhat isolated with limited food and entertainment facilities. The better rooms have wonderful sea views that are perhaps the highlight of the place, along with the colorful “Balinese” color schemes inside the rooms and outside of the buildings. This is not a “beach” resort, since there is only a beach at Low tide and that is very narrow and rocky. I booked the room after a hectic three-week trip to Thailand and Malaysia, in order to chill out before heading home. However, the daytime and evening noise levels at the facility and my room’s thin walls made chilling out very difficult. I would advise anyone contemplating staying here to request a room away from the pools and the restaurant. It happened unbeknownst to me that I booked for the final days of the Chinese New Year, and that may have generated the noise levels since the place was packed with families with children (I was traveling solo, and as far as I could tell, I was the only solo traveler at the facility).

The location , beach and ambience were great.
The location , beach and ambience were great. We stayed at the Park Royal Hotel. It was lovely, staff were helpful and always smiling.
We really enjoyed our stay. We ate at Grand Lebanon Restaurant, the food was delicious and service was great at the restaurant.
We also ate at the Enca restaurant (Indian Cuisine) and enjoyed the food which was excellent value for money and delicious.
We picked up some souveniers at the Batu Ferringhi night market also.

The gardens at the bay view were maintained beautifully and the cleaners never seemed to stop around the pool and restaurant area although it was requested that people did not enter wet. Well what can I say???

Batu Ferringhi is basically a strip of hotels/resorts along the main road with some restaurants, shops, massage places and night market along the road as well. Apart from visiting the beach, enjoying the pool area at your hotel, there is not much to do. Beaches are not the best, while we were there, there were signs to watch out for stingers, so we did not go in the water. The local grab drivers told us for nice beach holiday go to Langkawi instead.

I realy recommend this place
The house is beautifully design from top to bottom, every room has individual and nice features and a provides you with a mansion-living lifestyle. It's spacious and ideal for families with a huge master bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. It's quiet yet close to the beach, the Escape theme park, butterfly farm and much more attractions. It's a very unique and rewarding experience to stay here and the host is approachable and comfortable to deal with. A must for families and vacationers coming to Penang and Batu Ferringhi!
For a 4 star hotel, the resort is surprisingly pleasant. The room was pleasant, clean and comfortable.
The facilities were adequate.
The beach was clean enough.
The breakfast buffet was adequate. The curry was legit. Mamak style mamu surrrr. Haha. My husband was obsessed with the dim sum.
We came here solely for the escape park which can be easily accessed either via the public bus or by grabcar. There is food all around the hotel, for us simple couple, just adequate.
We were given a partitioned room with a large size bed and twin beds. The large bed was the largest we have ever experienced in any hotel. It can easily accommodate 4 people. Very comfortable.
Room service was responsive and helpful to our needs.
Loved the meditation pool. Swimming pool was also a reasonable size. The backside of the hotel connects directly to the beach and has a great view.
By The Sea is exactly as described. The apartment was lean and modern. Our apartment was the mosque side which was fine. The development has a great communal gym and infinity pool and garden access to Batu Ferringhi beach. The location has numerous cafes and restaurants on the roadside. A nice relaxed atmosphere. The apartment has a well appointed kitchen and 2 ensure shower rooms.
This is the HARDEST review I have had to give because usually, I always give positive feedback. The property advertised itself as a “Luxury” 2 bedrooms family suite. it is a 2 bedroom apartment but it is not luxurious. The ONLY positive about this apartment is that it is right on the beach and within walking distance of eateries in Batu Ferringhi.
Spacious and comfortable bedroom. They surprised us with a beautifully decorated bed and slice of cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Also enjoyed the Teddyville Museum where hotel guests could visit at a discounted rate. A hidden gem that shares the Penang story in a beary cute way! :)
hotel with a beautiful beach view.clean room. smells good too. beautiful view of the hotel. kids have fun. many facilities for children. there is a play room and swimming pool as well. Delicious large and freshly baked chocolate cookies are given at check-in. Comfortable room.
Rasa Wing upgrade well worth the extra. The staff throughout are really excellent, though Batu Ferringhi is badly needing upgrading - nothing really here and beach has virtually no facilities - the Rasa Sayang is worth going to and staying in resort, other than for eating out.
This is our 3rd time staying with PARKROYAL Penang Resort. My family and I never get bored, because there's always many activities can be execute while staying here.
Pool : Superb, my kids love it so much (^_^)
Beach : Awesome
- we stayed in Garden Wing which was good and room is wide.
- Swimming pools are amazing. really unforgettable.
- Executive Lunges was very good too.
- The hotel is Big and open to the beach
Kinda shock because it is a decent budget hotel. The room is really really clean. Air kat toilet laju. The staff are friendly. Ada coway and ironing section.
The staff and the owner are really support us when whe need them. The distance from the hotel to the beach is perfect to walk and enjoy the asmotphere.
