Camp Mara is situated in the heart of the majestic Erongo Mountain range, set in a tranquil atmosphere with beautiful nature surroundings, 13 km from the attractive town of Omaruru and is accessible without a 4x4 vehicle. Discover the magic of Namibia at our lovely lodge that is surrounded by the Oruwe Mountains to the east and the Erongo Mountains to the west. Flanked by the Namib Desert and the savannah, this combination of mountains and woodlands has given rise to a great diversity of animals and plant life, many of which are endemic to the area. This is the gate to the scenic Damaraland, with the famous desert elephants or ancient Himba tribe in Kaokoveld. We invite you to enjoy the magnificent Namibian sunset with us over an authentic Namibian barbecue followed by a tapestry of star-lit skies later in the evening.

Neighbourhood information

Omaruru is home to one of the four wineries in Namibia, the Kristall Kellerie Boutique Winery. Travellers are welcome to visit and enjoy a glass of wine. The town also offers a number of small coffee shops and cafes. Here our long sunny days promise hours of exploring and relaxation.
