This huge nature campsite is part of the enchanting forest of Landgoed Mariahoeve in Papenvoort in Drenthe province. Founded in 1928, the former owners decided to start here the first nature campsite of The Netherlands. The current management feels blessed that they can take care of such a very special place in. The place also has a lake that facilitates swimming, boating and fishing.

This lovely cabin has lots of privacy and plenty of amenities, including a refrigerator, electric heater and plush double bed. And of course, the private fire pit and covered outdoor seating area contribute to making this cabin the perfect place to kick back, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

Papenvoort is situated in the least populated part of the Netherlands; the triangle between Rolde, Borger and Gieten. A beautiful area with lots of woodland and lakes you can swim in like Nije Hemelriek at a 4.5km distance from Landgoed Mariahoeve. National Park Drentsche Aa is also close, just as Assen, the main city of Drenthe province and Groningen, the main city of Groningen province. Landgoed Mariahoeve is situated at de Hondsrug, a unique geological area thanks to the Ice Age. Nature lovers adore this area that is so quiet and spacious – very suitable for biking, walking and horse riding too.
