We are excited to have purchased the property in April 2016. Sharon comes from a background in finance and John owns several other businesses as well. Both have travelled extensively, domestically and overseas and wish to extend to our guests the sort of warm welcome and experience that we ourselves seek when travelling. It would be a pleasure to share our home with you (Oscar the 14 and a half year old Jack Russell completes the family) and have you experience all that this wonderful area has to offer. A real thrill was winning the 'Emerging B & B of the Year" at the B & B Association Conference awards in 2018.

Accent House was built in 2007 specifically as a B & B. It is set in one and a half acres of landscaped gardens. It has outside eating areas and overlooks a private lagoon. There are 4 guest suites, all with external doors to the gardens and all with en-suites. Heated bathroom floors & towel rails, robes and local toiletries. In addition there is a guest lounge with tea and coffee making facilities and if lucky you might also find some home baking! There is also a large garage/barn with guest laundry facilities. Secure lock up for bikes and ebike charging station.

Mapua is a great little village and wharf, for it's size it has amazing Restaurants, Bars, Art & Craft Studios and shops. It is right on the water front and 3 years ago we had 3 Orca's swim down the estuary. Lots going on with Music on at the Golden Bear Micro Brewery every Friday and Sunday. The Swell pub has music on the Saturday it also does great pub grub. The Sprig & Fern brewery own a pub in the village and has quiz night on a Wednesday serves super food and craft beers. The Jellyfish restaurant owner and Chef won the best Chef in Nelson in 2014. The Appleshed restaurant is equally as good. The Smokehouse Fish & Chip shop which sits between the 2 restaurants is mentioned in the Lonely Planet, a very high accolade. Rimu Grove serves great wines, pizzas and platters.
