This delightful luxury apartment (the Waimea Suite) offers breathtaking and ever changing views from panoramic windows over the beautiful Waimea Inlet and neighbouring mountains. Set in peaceful, mature parkland gardens, the Waimea Suite at Applewood borders the estuary. It has a modern and fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable lounge and balcony. There is a separate bedroom with large ensuite bathroom. Applewood is special in being centrally located for the attractions of Nelson, Richmond, Mapua, Motueka and the Abel Tasman National Park whilst having the benefit of a very peaceful location towards the seaward end of the lovely Bronte Peninsula. The mature gardens are a unique feature with many native trees, scented roses, lawns, pathways and secret areas. Enjoy an evening glass of wine on the dock at high tide, take a dip in the pool or just sit back and relax and enjoy the peace of this very special place.

David and Henriette arrived in New Zealand in 2003 as part of a circumnavigation in their yacht Galatea. We originally settled in Whangarei (our arrival port) but recently moved to the beautiful Tasman area. Henriette is a Psychotherapist in private practice and David is a retired academic publisher. We are excited by the range of possibilities the area has to offer and enjoy hiking, kayaking, Golf and biking. Sharing this beautiful home with guests is something we enjoy and look forward to.

We are on the Bronte Peninsula which is only seven minutes from the picturesque village of Mapua with its restaurants and bars (including craft beers!) An art gallery and a vineyard with wine tastings are within walking distance of Applewood. New Zealand's oldest pub, the Moutere Inn is only fifteen minutes drive away. Nelson is easily reached in 30 minutes and Motueka, the gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park is only 15 minutes away. You can explore its hikes, kayaking, water taxis, boat and fishing trips or take day excursions which suit all ages and levels of fitness. We are near the Nelson Taste Trail and it is easy to rent bikes in Mapua to do some lovely bike touring. Another beautiful destination either by bike or car are the many wineries which are within close proximity. Spend a leisurely day visiting one or more of the award winning wineries or explore the many local art galleries
