We do have very friendly golden labrador who will most likely want to come and say hello during your stay. Our children do play on the lawn area occasionally which is on the other side of our house, so at times you may here them kicking a ball around or bouncing on the trampoline. They are well trained little people and won't venture outdoors before 10am on the weekends :) The cabin has been built as a comfortable and cosy getaway for our guests. Although we occupy the main house on the property, we respect the privacy of our guests and any contact with us is at your discretion. A quaint wee discovery just off the beaten track, Flaxpod Cabin is a light and airy studio suitable for solo travellers, couples or small families. With views of rolling green pastures and native NZ garden, it is the ideal city escape while only minutes drive to all the local Raglan hotspots. We supply beautiful linen, all bedding, towels and basic amenitites - soap, shampoo, tea, coffee & milk. Enjoy the magic of quiet evenings under the cosy, ferry light living room ceiling and lazy mornings watching the Toi Toi’s blow peacefully in the wind. And when it’s time to go exploring, you will find a multitude of activities just minutes away. The queen size bedroom is a 10m² cedar cabin that opens up via a slider door to a fully enclosed living area with a Balinese inspired ensuite and small kitchenette with tea & coffee making facilities. Flaxpod cabin will accommodate small groups of 3 maximum (2 adults & 1 child). Please note that children older than porta-cot age will be sleeping on the couch. This is a couch not a bed but is more than suitable for children. Bedding can be left for you to make up at your own leisure. Please advise at time of reservation if you require additional bedding for the couch. The ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet and vanity has been designed to have an indoor/outdoor vibe. There is no actual door to the toilet (a pull across curtain only) so if privacy is an issue it might not be suitable for two friends traveling together. Linen, duvets, pillows, bath towels, tea, coffee and milk are included. There is no TV in the cabin.

We are 6 minutes drive to Raglan town. The cabin is located on our family proerty approximately 20 - 30 metres from the main house. Although we are sometimes on site, we like to give guests full privacy and will not disturb you during your stay unless we are needed. Although located rurally, we are quite close to a busy road during the daylight hours. But it is very quiet at night time.
