Staff was really friendly and helpful in guiding us to the Colca Canyon hotspots, including preparing us for the trips themselves. They really took their time to help us on our way. Even though we made a mistake booking (we booked a double bed instead of a twin), the manager of the hostel helped us out, free of charge, upgrading us to a family room (of three). The dinner was great. The beds were the best we've had so far in Peru. We could leave our luggage there for a day, no problem and in the morning they prepared a really great breakfast, with a packed lunch (ask for the "completo sandwich"). When you leave in the morning there are friendly dogs waiting in front of the hostel that will walked with us for the entire 12k.

We spent three nights at Pachamama after reading positive reviews on various travel blogs, and our experience was equally positive. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and the restaurant serves delicious pizzas and the best bread we've had in Peru so far. Upon arrival, the staff engages in conversations about your hiking plans in the area, offering helpful assistance and recommendations. They even provide their own map of the area, which proves to be incredibly useful. However, the highlight of our stay at Pachamama was the staff themselves. We truly appreciated their friendly and informal approach. Leandro, in particular, was extremely helpful, kind, and amusing. Additionally, we must mention the delightful dogs Nano and Camillo, who accompanied us throughout our two-day hike.

Definitely one of the best hostels ever! The staff was so welcoming, like a family, and provided us with the best advice for hiking the colca canyon. Also they offer additional activities to make the most out of the experience. We went on a morning tour to the cruz del condor before starting our hike, and it was amazing! They also helped with so many good and honest recommendations for continuing our travels. During the hike we were already dreaming about their pizzas and the breakfast for when we got back. And of course, we loved their cute dogs, who even walked with us and were our guides during the hike :)
