This place was the highlight of our whole trip to the Acores. Stunning house in a stunning location, overlooking the cliff, a short walk to the small beach, so peaceful and relaxed, I could not have dreamed it any better. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature, this is the place to go. At night, the stars and the Cagarro come out, and the songs of these birds is like nothing I've heard before, special and beautiful. The hosts brought us some welcome gifts and made sure we were fine, and gave us some background info on the area and the house. I would give more stars if I could!

Casa do Norte, hotel in Prainha de Baixo

Located in Prainha de Cima in the Pico island region, Casa do Norte has a patio and garden views. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking.

The house is very spacious, has a lovely modern decoration, clean, well-maintained, well-equiped. It has small terraces with wonderful views over the countryside, ocean and S. Jorge island. Check-in, check-out and all communication was done by whatsapp or the Booking site, quick replies in English. Private parking space. The house is located a bit outside Prainha in the countryside with cows, chicken and rooster around, so one hears the sound of animals (what we like). In Prainha are a few restaurants and 2 small supermarkets. A rental car is absolutely necessary. We enjoyed our stay a lot and wished we could have stayed longer in these tranquil surroundings.

    Quiet place.

Quiet place. Only one restaurant open starting 7pm, 2 small shops and 1 bar. No no tourist attractions. Perfect if you looking place for silence and rest and you are ready to drive to see something interesting or to go to restaurant. Recommended is to have car -- buses are not real option.

Here you can experience the wilder remoter part of Pico...

Here you can experience the wilder remoter part of Pico Island. I walked along the marked trails about 10km to the Miradouro de Alto de Cedros, finding some woodland trails on the steep hillside. If I'd had another day I'd have taken the bus to Piedade and walked back along the coast. Praia itself was quiet, with walks to the beach, a handy local shop and passing buses.
