I spent one week on San Miguel in this guesthouse. The guesthouse is a typical portuguese house that has a soul. I personally prefer such places more than standard hotels. The place is quiet, in the morning you can hear bird’s. There’s a shared bathroom, only one time I had to wait 5 minutes as another guest was taking a shower. I have only positive impressions from this guesthouse. If you have a rented car, I can definitely recommend it. Really good value for your money.

#1 - the Host. Sandra treated us as if we were family and made us feel very comfortable during all our stay. It will be my top choice if I ever go back to Sao Miguel. #2- Location. The accommodation is located in the north East of the island of Sao Miguel, making it an ideal hub for sightseeing around this area - Natural Park of Riberia dos Caledories, Gorreana Tea Factory, Farol do Arnel, Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego, Miradouro da Ponta da Madrugada, Cascata do Salto do Prego, etc. #3 - Village. Achada is a traditional very tranquil and picturesque town - if you are looking to be closer to nature without too many people around, that's your place. There's a couple of grocery stores in town to cover your basic needs.

Location was perfect. After spending much time elsewhere in Sao Miguel which was full of people and really hectic, this was pleasant surprise with plenty to see and experience surrounded by beautiful nature. Service was heart warming and felt really personalized. Accommodation was clean and roomy.

The host, Sandra, is an amazing person. She ist so friendly, helpful and kind. We felt very comfortable in her house. There are all possibilities for your cooking in the kitchen. The location is perfect if you are looking for calm and nature. Ocean side is not far away. You can reach every where really good. The Tea Fabric is only 13 km away, which is perfect place for your breakfast with ocean and tea fields.

The hostess was great, very communicative, she recommended a couple of interesting places and when we needed to solve something, she helped us. The accommodation has a beautiful view of the ocean, is located in a quiet location and is close to many beautiful places. In the kitchen you will find all the equipment you need to prepare a meal. There is even a coffee maker, ice maker and toaster. Sandra gave us local tea, homemade eggs and milk to taste. From accommodation, you can expect to meet people from different countries and exchange travel tips not only in the Azores.

The House is not like a Hostel, it‘s more a sharing house with your friends. You came in, sandra is a very good host, she gives you the feeling of welcome. You can talk to other Guests and with Sandra. Good location for a stay.
