Hello, I'm António. I will be your host for the duration of your stay. I am totally available, so that you can have a pleasant and unforgettable vacation. I will do everything in my power to help you to know better my municipality, my Island and our traditions. I love hiking, walking on the beach, showing my Island, chatting with friends and a good barbeque. I love being in the company of family and good friends, and I really enjoy the contact with different cultures, which allows me each time to discover more of the diversity that exists in the world, as well as to understand the importance of acceptance and coexistence.
The house, over 80 years old, was initially designed for the collection of agricultural implements, having been improved over the years and expanded in 2020. With this intervention, resulted the "Casa da Aldeia", an accommodation with wide areas and a distribution which distinguishes the leisure from the sleeping areas, privileging well-being and comfort, with the main amenities necessary to provide unforgettable moments between family and friends. Casa da Aldeia has a covered area of 188m2, built on a land of 625m2. It consists of a bedroom and suite (air conditioned); WC; pantry; and living room and kitchen (air conditioned).. Outside, it has an annex with porch, WC and laundry, and a parking area. In the large garden you will find a "fire pit", where you can have your grills. Casa da Aldeia represents the fusion of sky and sea, air and land, hillside and mountains, in the tranquility and purity of the countryside. Venture yourself into experiences with the locals, cook your meals inside or outside, contemplate the serenity of the space and enjoy a hot tea or a glass of wine by the "fire pit", while engaging in a good conversation.
Casa da Aldeia is located in the picturesque village of Santo António Nordestinho. It is a rural, quiet village, with a population of around 255 inhabitants (2011 censuses). The people are kind, welcoming and friendly, always available to help or have a friendly conversation. During your stay you can go on several hiking trips, namely to Pico da Vara, the highest point of the island, which is part of the Northeast Basalt Volcanic Complex, with about 4 million years old. Another suggestion is a pedestrian walk to the viewpoint of Borda da Ladeira, which offers a lovely view of the island and the sea, and where you can simply enjoy a magnificent sunset. The local church, one of the most beautiful religious temples on the island, in a mixture of Gothic and Manueline styles, and it can be visited just a few meters from the house. You can also visit the Centro Cultural Padre Raposo, where you will find a variety of handicraft made by local artisans. The locality is served daily by public transport, has easy access to the highway, and has a small grocery store and a café, as well as door to door selling of bread, meat, fish, fruit and vegetables.
