The place itself is outstanding! It is memorable to spend a night and a day in a fortress. Surrounding landscape is really worth to see and Marstrand is a lovely small town. Personel of Soldatens B&B is toppen! Ps. Private bathroom on the corridor works surprisingly well.

Staying in a huge centuries old fortress with a free run of the place after all the tourists have gone. Crossing a drawbridge over a moat to go for a very good breakfast. Rooms are warm and comfortable. Exceptional staff. What's not to love?

Fortunate to stay in this historical site , was very unique and pleasant experience . Staff were really kind and helped us with information around Marstrand . Inspite of stay there is wealth of information available in and around castle , castle is well preserved and maintained with guided tours ( please check website for timings ) and bonus is Viking style breakfast :)

This place is truly special, with its historic feel. Our accommodation, a 4-bed room, was clean and comfortable. The view from our window was lovely (make sure to specify sea view when booking), and it was so relaxing to sit in the chairs provided, and gaze out over the roof tops to the ocean. The games room on the ground floor is wonderful, and we spontaneously picked up the table tennis bats and ball to play. There are heaps of other games too. Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. One of the benefits of staying here is that you can explore Carlsten Fortress when day visitors have left. If you do not speak Swedish, ask at Reception for the guide book in English. The views from the tower across the archipelago are fabulous. Marstrand Island has some lovely nature walks, easily accessible from a track close to the hotel entrance.

It is a beautiful historical place, with nice rooms. Allthough the shower and toilet is not in your room, you have your private bathroom around the corner. The breakfast was very extensive and tasteful and the personel very friendly and helpful. I really recommend this place and would defenitely return here.
