- The hotel's location is ideal for exploring the north-central part of the island: Monte Café, the botanical garden, the Saint Nicolas waterfall... - The scenery offered by the hotel, both from the restaurant and from the building in which the rooms are located, is grandiose: bird-rich forest moat, pretty garden, capital and ocean visible in the distance when the weather is clear. - The breakfasts included in the room rate are rich and tasty, as are the almost gourmet lunch and dinner menus. - The restaurant staff are friendly and helpful, even if it's hard to get through to those who speak only Portuguese. - The wooden building housing the room I stayed in is attractive on the outside and practical on the inside. The room had a double bed (but only a bedside table), a side table, a rack and a small separate bathroom. The shower had hot water and a good flow.

The room was clean with a new and comfortable bed. The crew were super friendly and helpful. A plus was the amazing foods truly lived this patch of heaven in the jungle

The location and stunning surroundings. Well sculpted and maintained gardens. All very idyllic. And the adjacent restaurant (Casa Museu Almada Negreiros) serves a great 4 course lunch. The room was a simple bungalow with private bathroom. We found this to be a good basis to visit the botanical garden and hike up to Lagoa Amelia (the crater lake), to walk to nearby waterfall (Cascata de São Nicolau) and visit the coffee museum in Graça

We loved the view, the charm of the place and the restaurant which serves a very creative cuisine. it was nice to be close to Monte Cafe and to the trails of São Nicolau waterfall and Lagoa Amelia crater.
