Compass Atauro Eco Lodge is the accommodation part of the long established Compass Diving, a PADI 5 star Dive Resort and Green Fins Member based on Atauro Island, the jewel of Timor-Leste. We can be found at our office in central Dili or contacted for a full range of PADI courses, dive/snorkel day trip or all-inclusive stay packages at our accommodation in Beloi. Compass also operates speed boats and a 17-meter Catamaran on a private charter base, besides a transfer service between Dili and the island. Our experienced PADI professionals are ready to take you exploring the magnificent reefs of Atauro, as well as the many other range of dive sites located between Dili up to Jaco Island. We're focused on exclusive, small-group experiences. Name your wishes, and we'll do our best to meet them!!

Property information

Situated in Beloi, eastern part of the island, the Compass Atauro Eco Lodge offers a great opportunity for a beachfront, quiet and breezy island treat. Our smiling staff is available to help you by sharing suggestion on island activities as well as willing to simply sit down for a chat over a delicious Timorese cup of coffee to talk about our passion for the island's magnificent surrounding waters. On-site, hammocks are spread around our large property for the ones who'd like to relax and world-class snorkeling is available just by walking from the shore in front of our Beach House. Off-site, a few beautiful hiking trails are easily accessible as well as a some of the island's local handcraft shops, which we'd gladly help arranging transportation to. We are glad to offer two possibilities of accommodation at our spacious lodge. 1) Our ecologically built tents are mosquito-proof and comfortably ventilated. Toilet and shower facilities are shared and close from the tents, which also offer a cozy seating area just in front. 2) Our villa is an option for the ones seeking a treat when on the island. An air conditioned unit with an outdoor bathroom, it's a unique option on Ataúro.

Neighbourhood information

Beloi is situated on the western side of Atauro and offers a great starting point for someone's stay on the ialdn. Remote beaches like Akrema (North) can be reached both by motorcycle as well as boat and adorable hikes, like the one to Adara (West) can also start from it. Besides that, Beloi is nearby the village known as Vila, where one can visit handcraft projects like Boneca de Ataúro and Bio Joias, establish to, within different situations, contribute to promote alternative sources of income for local communities. This isn't the only projects on the island and a few more could be possibly visited. Finally, Ataúro is house to the world's most biodiverse reefs (!) and visiting the island would definitely result in the recommendation to contemplate them. This could be done either on snorkeling or diving trips, services Compass Diving offers for our guests, both the ones with as the ones without previous ocean experience.
