Our unique, handcrafted beach cabins are located on MacDonald Spit, a scenic water taxi ride from Homer across beautiful Kachemak Bay. The cabins are only steps away from the sandy beaches where otters play & eagles soar. Surrounded by spruce trees, all cabins offer spectacular views of bays, islands, and snow-capped mountains. Included in your stay are kayaks, sups, & rowboats. Inside your cozy cabin you will find a full-size bed, full linens, and electric heat. There is WIFI in our art gallery and excellent cell reception. Choose from a variety of activities like kayaking, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, beach combing, tide pooling, & birding. Whether you come to relax or play, enjoy an evening beach fire as the sun sets. This cabin is "dry" in Alaska, this means no running water. There is an outdoor kitchen & we provide unlimited drinking/cooking/dish water & an private outhouse just 20 feet away. Near by is a shared forest shower tucked in the trees with a copper rain shower head. We Are "Surrounded By Water & Kissed By The Sun" !

Kristi, a life long Alaskan, was raised in a log cabin by her pioneer parents. By the age of 20, she had already coached skating and skiing, commercial fished, and was running her own boat and crew. Commercial fishing for salmon, halibut, crab, and herring have taken her throughout Alaska's waters. A self-taught artist, working primarily in clay, she spends her free time sculpting in her Alaska studio in the winters while fishing & beach combing in the summers.

MacDonald Spit is an ancient glacial moraine, a long narrow strip of land surrounded by water. This creates a beach in front on each side of the cabin, making them Between Beaches! The region's large tides help make MacDonald Spit's natural beauty and ecology unmatched. Aside from the cozy, well-appointed cabins in this stunning and unique natural location, you are also surrounded by art at Between Beaches Alaska. Ceramic sculptures as well as instillations made from copper, glass floats, drift wood, other beach combing finds, and clay, are around every corner--even in your shower! Nearby is the historic village of Seldovia. From Between Beaches, take a short walk up a trail to Jackalof Bay Road. About 8 miles away is Seldovia (we can arrange for a taxi), where there are bars & restaurants, shops, a historic Russian cemetery & church, fishing, bear viewing charters, and more!
