Hi I am Matt! My wife and I have a deep love for travel, cooking, and our fluffy golden retriever named Jeter. When we travel, our favorite part is immersing ourselves in the local culture and cuisine. As the cook in the family, I love to learn about local cuisines and try my hand at re-creating local dishes when back at home, while my wife loves to relive our travels through her beautiful photography and informative travel blogging. The three of us spent two years living as expats in Cologne, Germany, visiting 35+ countries during our time abroad. During our travels, we loved to stay at many different types of properties from converted vineyard longhouses in Tuscany, to antique villas in France, and beautiful open-air Riads in Morocco. These stays built a deep desire within us to one day create the same experience for others. Our ultimate goal is to provide experiences to guests from near and far that will resonate for a lifetime. GETTING THERE: As with any great view, it can be an adventure to get there. Be prepared on your first time to the cabin for some winding and steep roads. We are confident after your first time up to the cabin that you will become more comfortable navigating to our little sanctuary. We also suggest that on your first day, if at all possible, to show up during daylight hours to help put you at ease during the drive. We promise the views and cabin are worth it! Don’t just take it from us, here are a few words from other guests: “The view alone is well worth the windy ride up” “Takes a little while to get to the cabin since you're driving up a mountain full of narrow roads with all kinds of twists and turns, but it is SO worth it for this breathtaking view.” “The hike up the mountain was intense for the first trip, but after that, it's pretty easy.” WINTER NOTE: If you plan to book during winter months (generally November through March) where snow and ice are possible on the roads, we HIGHLY recommend you plan to utilize a 4-wheel drive vehicle or bring snow chains for any 2-wheel drive vehicle in order to safely traverse the hills in the neighborhood.
