Location was perfect, neighborhood was unexpectedly tranquil. Easy access to house and to all amenities. Loved the hot tub. Shower pressure was unexpectedly forceful. Great windows views to the outside all around the cabin. Watched a few squirrels playing in the front yard. Nice warm gas-burning fireplace. The Nest system also worked splendidly for both cooling and heating, since daytime was 80 degrees, and nighttime 40. Smart TV also came in handy when wanting to relax in the evening. Overall a great time, great value.

Come enjoy our quiet mountain retreat, Sugar in the Raw. Unwind, reconnect, and soak in the good vibes our guests keep commenting on -- there's just something special about our cozy mountain home!
Chris and Shannon here. Thank you for the honor of hosting your stay in Big Bear! This cabin is our first home and our treasure, and we hope it provides as much reprieve from the hustle of city life for you as it does us. We both work in the film industry. Shannon builds superhero costumes for shows like The Mandalorian, The Boys, and the Rock's next movie, while Chris writes and directs horror movies. When you rent our place, our welcome guide talks about all the personal touches throughout the cabin related to our work!
We are 7 miles from Big Bear Village, with myriad activities for all four seasons in every direction. In the summer, we love to hike and bike all the local trails at the end of our lane (there's also great 4x4 trails nearby). Take the Snow Summit Sky Lift for the high altitude view. Ride the Big Bear Queen around the lake. And eat at Santana Mavericks by the lake. Everything is less than 15 minutes away. In the winter, we snowboard at Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. We have a lot more suggestions with plenty of information in our welcome guide. After a day of adventure, we come back to Sugar in the Raw and hang in our jacuzzi under the towering pines and make use of the huge deck furnished with a dining area, plenty of seating, and a big grill, or just drink a beer around the fire pit under the stars. When it’s cold, we love to sit by the fireplace and drink a glass of wine, curl up on the couch and watch a movie. We have a game collection, and lots of fun movie paraphernalia upstairs because we both work in film and TV.
