We fell in love with the British Virgin Islands after honeymooning at the Bitter End Yacht Club in 2003. After a day on White Bay, we didn't want to leave. We booked a vacation to Jost as soon as we returned home to North Carolina. An annual trip quickly turned to two annual trips. Over the years, we have developed a number friends and 'family' on island, and it became clear that we wanted a place to call our own on the island. Jost Van Dyke has become a home away from home. Villa Host, Tina is originally from Germany, and moved to the British Virgin Islands 25 years ago after meeting the love of her life. Tina has become a respected and integral contributor to the island over the years. She worked at both Soggy Dollar Bar and Hendo's Hideout on White Bay, aiding in their notoriety by delivering exceptional customer service and business acumen. During the Pandemic, Tina tapped into her nursing background by volunteering at the Jost Van Dyke Medical Clinic. Together, we will strive to deliver a magical vacation. We are happy to share our special place, in hopes that you too will love Jost Van Dyke and "Almost Heaven."
Jost Van Dyke is a small Caribbean island with a population of around 250. It's small community delivers a localized, neighborhood feeling in which travelers are welcomed and embraced. The island is safe, and many Villa guests enjoy exploring all that the island has to offer. Whether relaxing on the beach, hiking steep trails to admire lofty views, dining at top tier restaurants, or island hopping the BVI, Jost Van Dyke has something to offer every traveler. Jost Van Dyke is world renowned for the Soggy Dollar Bar, located on one of the world's most beautiful beaches in White Bay. Foxy's Bar is also recognized as a nightlife hotspot, and regularly hosts one of the world's greatest New Year's Eve parties. But, it's not all party and cocktails on JVD... The British Virgin Islands boasts crystal clear, blue waters that are excellent for sailing, snorkeling and diving. Locals depend on fishing as a primary source of nourishment, and are always glad to share a deep sea fishing adventure. At Almost Heaven Villa, we'll help you plan an amazing island getaway.
