I am a Hmong girl born and raised in Sapa, the Hmong people are one of the few ethnic minorities that still retain the most original culture and traditions. The unique cultural features and lifestyle of the Hmong people always have a bold traditional beauty, one of the beauties of the Hmong people shown through the house. The house is designed in an odd number of 3 or 5 space, the kitchen is usually designed outside the house, this is the place to keep the fire, heat, cook food, make wine to serve the family, the Hmong people have always believed that everything has a soul, so the stove also has a fire god, a kitchen god, a treasure keeper, etc. The middle space is considered the most sacred space and is the place to worship the gods. like worshiping ancestors and there will be very strict regulations and taboos Hmong houses are mainly built with natural materials such as soil, stone, wood, bamboo, etc. Depending on the purpose of use, the house will be designed appropriately while still preserving its unique features. beautiful, characteristic of Hmong culture.
