Mount Champagne Cottage is a double-storey thatched cottage located in the secure Mount Champagne Resort at the foot of Cathkin Peak. It has stunning, private views of the Cathkin Peak and Champagne Castle mountain range. Mount Champagne Cottage comfortably accommodates up to eight guests and comprises four bedrooms with three bathrooms, a lounge, kitchen, dining area and utility room. The lounge features a wood burner and a TV with DStv - the ideal place to curl up on those chilly winter evenings. There is also uncapped Wi-Fi available as well as a newly installed inverter powering the lights and plug points. The stove, oven and the geysers are powered by gas. The dining area contains a eight-seater dining table and chairs, and the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Features also include a spacious and secluded garden which is just right for sunbathing, with the Sterkspruit river just a stone’s throw away.
Mount Champagne is situated near to all amenities, including a shop and restaurant as well as the Champagne Sports Golf Course, while the resort itself offers a delightful swimming pool area, tennis, fishing, and canoeing. There are extensive walks and organized hikes in the surrounding area and the famous Drakensberg World Heritage Site. Other activities include trips to rock art sites, horse riding, mountain biking, and helicopter trips. The renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir School borders the property and the sound of their weekly concerts echo across the valley.
