Dear Traveler, welcome to our home, Acacia Guesthouse in the ❤ of Kathu nestled under Camel Thorn Trees with our individually decorated en-suite rooms. Each room with private entrance, en-suite facility, air-conditioning, and DStv will make you feel right at home. All rooms have complimentary High Speed Fiber, desk and chair as well as coffee & tea with complimentary treats, small fridge with water & ice, and microwave. Secure undercover parking is provided free of charge for normal vehicles, hight restrictions apply and we do NOT provide parking for utility vehicles & trucks! Travelling with more than just one vehicle, then please advise beforehand to allow us to provide you with adequate parking space! Enjoy a sit down breakfast served daily (excluding Sundays) in Bon Appétit our dining room with relaxed music and a wide variety of coffee and teas to set the perfect ambiance to start your day, ample seating space provides social distancing with ease and ultimate comfort, lunch and dinner not provided, we will gladly direct guests to the restaurants in town to use. Load shedding: Acacia does not have a generator, our lights are however battery charged and we provide 2 additional emergency free standing lights per room. We continue to provide High Speed Fiber during load shedding. Acacia Guesthouse strives to give our travelling guests a relaxed and quiet stay and, reserve the right to only accommodate guests that are booked at the property. There is no barbeque area available. Our rooms are equipped and styled with the business travellers requirements in mind but leisure guests needing a nights stay are always more than welcome. We are a family run property and have well-trained, friendly domesticated pets (cats & dog) on the premises, unfortunately, travelling pets will not be accommodated. Kindly adhere to our check-in & out times provided to avoid penalty fees. We look forward to welcoming you to our home!
Hermine vd Westhuizen started her hospitality career in 2004 at the Central University of Technology Free State's Hotel School. She did her hospitality first year practical (chefs) at the Southern Sun Hotel, JHB International Airport, work part time as student at College Lodge in Bloemfontein as a receptionist, and did her 3rd year Management practical at the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town 2007. She returned to Kathu in 2008 to work at Acacia Guesthouse, then owned by her parents. With the Confederation Cup & Soccer World Cup 2010 that approached she then moved back to Bloemfontein and was appointed as assistant manager of College Lodge. September 2010 she was appointed as Food & Beverage Manager of Anta Boga Hotel in Bloemfontein, at that time the only 5 star Hotel in the Free State & Northern Cape, she was promoted to Executive Housekeeper in 2012 and in 2013 to Executive F&B / Housekeeping manager, during 2015 she was promoted once again as Deputy General Manager of the same property. July 2017 she took a chance on her dream and passion for the industry as owner of Acacia Guesthouse. This family run guesthouse understands travelling guests and look forward to hosting you.
Acacia Guesthouse is situated in family residential area of "Old" Kathu, within a 2 km range of all major shopping centers, restaurants as well as the Kalahari Country Club that offers a Fitness Centre, swimming pool and a SA Top 14 Golf course. Loadshedding and generator noise: Some residential properties in close proximity of the guesthouse make use of generators during loadshedding.
