Neighbourhood information

Wilderness offers a wealth of recreational opportunities, for both the very active to the not so active. Enjoy the gentle side of nature, with the bounty of fauna & flora, watch the whales & dolphin, go bird watching or just relax on the golden beach and listen to the ocean. Experience the thrill of hang & paragliding, horseback riding, mountain biking or try your skills at water skiing, angling and other water sport. Meander through the beautiful Lakes District and the Serpentine joining Island Lake to the Touw River. Amble along the many nature trails winding through beautiful cool forests affording you the chance to view the colourful Knysna Lourie and a variety of Kingfisher species. Wilderness Village, with its quaint "Olde Worlde" charm offers a variety of shops, restaurants, businesses, convenience stores & petrol stations. There are a number of doctor’s rooms and a pharmacy. A short distance away, in George, you have the full spectrum of medical facilities, from clinics to Government and private hospitals. There are also very up to date shopping malls, schools, colleges and a university in George, plus a variety of sporting facilities and golfing venues, including the famous Fancourt Golfing Estate.
