Belle Mer is a luxury guest house in the quaint coastal town Pringle Bay, on the beautiful Whale Coast of the Western Cape, where the Atlantic ocean and the mountains meet. The house offers three guest suites with all the luxuries like air-conditioning, spa-baths, private balconies or patio, king size beds and all the normal amenities like toiletries, tea and coffee trays, bar fridges and safes. You will experience the tranquility and the natural beauty of the environment, enjoy beautiful views of the waves crashing on the rocks only 100 m from the house as well as views of the mountains hugging the town. Whales are often spotted from the house. Pringle Bay's unspoilt swimming beach and lagoon is within walking distance.
We are originally from Gauteng, but a few years ago we decided to relocate to the Cape coast in order to reconnect with nature. We bought this house in Pringle Bay and spent the last two and a half years renovating and converting it into a luxury guest house. Our own living quarters are separated from the guest house by two doors. Ida will manage the guest house while Johan still works as a civil engineer. We both come from large families and are accustomed to people around us. We enjoy meeting people from all over the world and can't wait to welcome you into our house.
Pringle Bay is small enough to give you an out-of-the-city experience, yet it has all the necessary shops, amenities and restaurants for a pleasurable sea-side retreat and boasts a beautiful unspoilt swimming beach and lagoon. The town falls within a conservation area where nature comes first. There are no street lights and the only traffic you’ll have to deal with is the tortoises, pheasants and guinea fowl crossing the road. In close proximity you’ll find Dappat se Gat, a popular surfing spot, Kogelberg Nature Reserve, Stony Point penguin breeding colony, Harold Porter botanical garden and many more. Popular activities are hiking, cycling, surfing, kite flying, diving, swimming and sunbathing. The magical Cape Town, Cape Point, Table Mountain, the many Boland wine routes and Hermanus, the whale capital of South Africa, are all within an hour and a half's drive from Belle Mer Guest House.
