Chaka's Rock Chalets is the ideal spot for spending some time away from your daily routine, located on a peaceful hill in the small seaside village of Shaka’s Rock, just off the beaten holiday track from Ballito, Umhlanga and Durban. Shaka’s Rock is named for the rocky outcrop along the coast, which is believed to have been used by King Shaka either as a lookout or to test the bravery of his men. Today the site is better known as a surfing spot and fishing spot, and is the scene of some exciting launches and landings as these powerful machines go about their day’s endeavours. The 1, 2 and 3-bedroom chalets feature garden or sea views, fully equipped kitchens, televisions, and either a private braai area for relaxing after a fun-filled day, or easy access to the communal resort braai area. All the chalets feature covered, or open secure parking.

Chaka’s Rock Chalets is well placed to explore all the fascinating options available on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. Durban is just 45 minutes’ drive down the coast, making all the attractions of this bustling port city within reach for a day trip. Swing from the stadium, visit the theatre, explore the Botanical Gardens or shop up a storm at the Victoria Street Market. Closer at hand, Ballito beckons with its golden beaches, excellent surf, an animal farm and bike or horse trails to fill the hours, while Umhlanga offers upmarket dining, exclusive shopping, forest walks and the World’s Highest Indoor Rock Climb. Make a date with Lady Luck at Sibaya Casino, for world-class shows, live music, fine dining, cinemas, games, slot machines, gambling tables and a range of leisure facilities. Sibaya Casino is located 22 kilometres from Chaka’s Rock Chalets, close to the sleepy seaside village of Umdloti with its family-friendly restaurants and beaches. In the neighbouring town of Shaka’s Rock, deep sea fishing, dolphin cruises and whale watching are popular pastimes, and there are quaint shops, fine restaurants and two golf courses found nearby.
