Gentle Presence is thought to have been the sandstone stables of a larger farm where farmers gathered for Nagmaal (Holy Communion). It has only had 3 owners and is a heritage site with a charming history which we would love to share with you. Both self-catering Cottages are situated some distant apart from each other to provide privacy, each with it’s own entrance, shaded off street parking, and stunning mountain views. The Cottages can be booked separately or together. Cottage 1 has been loving restored using a mixture of antique and modern furniture. The Cottage sleeps 6 guests and has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan living/dining area where 2 children or 1 adult can be accommodated on a sleeper couch. Both bedrooms have a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower-over-bath and each room has access to a balcony. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is an outdoor patio area where guests can enjoy meals. There is a firepit and a braai.Guests will enjoy TV and WIFI and the ability to do self check-in/check-out. Note: Guests are required to climb stairs which are not suitable for those who struggle with stairs or children under 8. Cottage 2 was originally the outer building. This Cottage has been renovated with a modern design, whilst preserving the original building. It offers an open plan bedroom and kitchenette for self-catering. An outdoor braai is available for guests with outdoor seating. This Cottage has a Smart TV, WIFI, and a walk-in shower. The Cottage is set in the bottom of the garden with stunning mountain and garden views. Gentle Presence Cottages is located 300 m from the town square where there are many restaurants, coffee shops, shops and art galleries. Clarens Golf Estate is less than 3 km away, the Golden Gate National Park is about 25 km away and the Fouriesburg border post to Lesotho is only a 30-minute drive away. Remember, a passport is required to enter Lesotho.
