Relax and enjoy your holiday in this comfortable self-catering cottage on the Island in Sedgefield. The open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen offers a comfortable indoor living area. The veranda is enclosed with glass folding doors, can be fully opened in summer and closed and cosy in winter with the morning sun warming it up! The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, glass hob, oven, kettle, toaster, airfryer and even a capsule coffee machine. Complimentary teas, coffees, spices, condiments and some pantry basics are provided. Both bedrooms are en-suite with showers. All linen is provided except beach towels. The paved patio has a built-in BBQ, sun loungers and a large shade umbrella. The cottage is completely private with separate entrance and enclosed garden. Free parking is available on the property. Lavendel Cottage is fully self-catering and for longer stays is serviced once/week, linen changes on those days. Daily housekeeping can be arranged with local cleaning services at own cost and at own risk (contact details will be provided upon request, must be arranged in advance). We also offer special discounts for longer stays of 14 - 28 days and over. Contact owner.
We look forward to welcoming our guests and meeting new people, while at the same time we assure all guests of their privacy. We are on hand for all your queries and on request can assist with information on the area and services available. An information booklet is on hand in the cottage with restaurants, shoppinng, activities etc all described. Wir sprechen auch Deutsch et un peu de français.
Walk to the estuary and Saturday markets and discover the entire beautiful Garden Route from here. This unique and stunning area is malaria free area. It is traversed by many rivers, has a lake district of 5 lakes, unsurpassed beaches, some breathtaking mountain ranges, the largest stretch of indigenous forest in southern Africa and a wild fynbos garden unlike anywhere else on earth. Its mild Mediterranean type climate encourages people to spend a great deal of time in the glorious natural environment enjoying a vast range of outdoor activities that include wind surfing, skiing, swimming, paragliding, hiking the beaches, mountain or forest trails, mountain biking many spectacular scenic cycling routes, fishing, kayaking/canoeing the rivers and lagoons It is a perennially green region making it ideal for golfing and boasts no less than 12 renowned courses, 5 of which are championship courses. Car hire is available from George Airport or in Sedgefield town. Bicycle hire can also be arranged locally. We have a Rubber Duck (Mariner 3) available for daily hire (at own risk). There is no public transport in this area, but coaches run from/to Cape Town and Port Elizabeth
