Serendipity has a 2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY POLICY. It is a beautiful comfortable Cottage located in the historic town of Prince Albert, & is sumptuous, warm & cosy with a modern feel. It is impeccably clean & clutter-free, & with recently upgraded wifi. The upstairs balcony gives you stunning Karoo views & a private chill-out spot, although you also have full use of the garden, braai-area & seating. The bedroom has the very best king size (XL) bed & ensuite bathroom. There is a sofa bed in the spacious living room that is ideal for 2 younger children (pre-teen). The Cottage consists of Kitchen, Living & Dining area , & a work area. BRAND NEW - For older children - or if 2 couples are travelling together - we now offer an additional, separate Bedroom (QSXL bed) with its own bathroom, at R300 per person per night, & using the Cottage cooking & lounging areas. If for any reason you choose to leave the balcony, there are beautiful walks in every direction, & 2 bicycles available - Ben & Jenny - for a small daily hire-fee. Serendipity is close to the gym, good restaurants, art shops, and very importantly, about 2Kms from Lazy Lizard - a perfect ratio of exercise to carrot cake!
I built Serendipity to have a pocket of sanity in this mad world, where lovers could come and be calm, have massages, walk and breathe and talk and star-gaze, and not be distracted with consumer-frenzy and comparisons and "things". That is why I have a 2 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY POLICY - shorter is just not enough. Although the village is probably only about 3 Kms long, I moved slightly away from it all, which has given me clean air, stunning Karoo skies and peace, but still within a comfy walking distance to everything. I've spent many, many 10-thousand hours massaging over 20 years. Early on, clients - a British couple - said I had to put a sign outside my Nuwe Street home and call myself "AWESOME MASSAGES". I did - and for 7 years I had a very busy practice, with kind, happy, awesome clients that I love and remember fondly. While fInishing my building project, I massaged from a B&B sauna-room, lost 2 cell phones & most of my contacts, and moved to 3 Fairbairn Ave. Then my name was stolen by the B&B. I was so sad to lose touch with my favourite people but, to avoid conflict, I just re-branded to "HEAVENLY HANDS MASSAGES, Pr Albert" and hope they will all find me again
I feel so lucky living here, just slightly away from the madding crowd. People who visit PA want to feel the Karoo - not be in a big city IN the Karoo. They want the smell and the harshness and dryness and the colours and the stars of Prince Albert. They understand that we are in the desert and we have a drought, and that every day is fragile. At Serendipity, I have hosted absolutely fab-u-lous people that want to walk and breathe and catch up on sleep, and re-charge themselves, which is the reason I have a 2 DAY MINIMUM STAY POLICY. My visitors love the big sky, the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises from the upstairs balcony, the stars, the walks - and rides - in every direction, and the clean air and peace. Even if you feel lazy, the Rude Chef and Karoo Kombuis are an easy walk down the road for a great meal. There are art galleries and olive farms and Weltevrede Fig Farm for an outing. If you allow yourself a few days away, life is chilled and slower here
