Your 'Home-Away-From-Home', St Lucia Holiday Cottage is a 7 sleeper (3 bedroom/bathroom) fully equipped self-catering house that boasts spectacular Ocean and St Lucia Estuary Views! Bordering iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, our guests enjoy a serene, soulful & back-to-nature experience. Regular visitors include mongoose troops, duiker and the odd grazing hippo. This well established property is a birder paradise and offers families ample space to relax or complete privacy for a couple looking for a secluded retreat. The house facilities include 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 1 living room with 2 convertible sofas for extra beds, a dining room, TV Lounge, Kitchen and a patio with an unbeatable view! Braai facilities and outdoor furniture are provided. Wheel Chair Friendly - the house is set on ground level with no steps offering grab handrails in the bath, toilet and shower. Thabasile is our Housekeeper who lives on site. Thabasile services the house twice a day including making up the rooms, cleaning the house and washing dishes. Laundry can be done on a paid arrangement with her.

Lyn Sumner and Roma Buchanan are the shared owners of this property. However, neither reside within St Lucia. Thabasile is our trusted Housekeeper who lives on the property. Thabasile has worked in previous lodges and hotels and is a delight to be around. She has been with us for many years and always receives glowing reviews from our guests. The running of the house is entrusted with Thabasile. Thabasile will be there on arrival to welcome the guests into the house and present their set of keys for the duration of their stay. Keys should be returned to her on departure. In case of any emergency, Thabasile has direct contact with the owners of the house and knows the emergency contact numbers of the local service providers. It is best to arrange personally with Thabasile the housekeeping roster you would prefer during your stay. Usually she visits the house twice a day. In the morning around 8am to clean dishes, clean the house, prepare the rooms and bathrooms. Then again in the later afternoon to clean up from the days events.

St Lucia offers an abundance of activities, recreation and eating facilities. The St Lucia Estuary is short walking distance from the house. The beach is not much further. Birding, fishing, hiking, biking, boat cruises, swimming, whale watching - the activities are endless. The St Lucia Crocodile Farm is a must to visit - feeding time is exciting! The Ski Boat Club & Restaurant offers an all-in-one experience of delicious food, sports bar, a small swimming pool and great lake views. In town there are a variety of other restaurants and shops to enjoy. iSimangaliso has two gate entries - Eastern Shores/Cape Vidal presents some great game viewing while visiting Mission Rocks and Cape Vidal. Cape Vidal is the best beach to visit especially at low tide exposing the tidal pools and pleasant swimming bay. The Western Shores Gate offers more game viewing opportunities while enjoying the natural wonders in the area. Monzi town offers a great day out on the golf course as well as a little shopping at the Cane Rats craft shop. The Chase Cheese & Animal Farm is a must to visit for delicious food, a swim, a putt-putt course, great kiddies playground and milking of the goats!
