The Gallery provides self catering accommodation in Franskraal near Gansbaai in the Western Cape Overberg district. The self catering house (sleep 4 couples ( 8) has the perfect location, 5 minutes walk to the Franskraal beach (white sand) and the Uilenkraalsriver estuary that opens into the Ocean. The 4 self catering units comprise of an open plan kitchenette, indoor BBQ, dining area and an en-suite bedroom with a walk in shower washbasin and toilet. The units are spacious (46m2) with a private entrance and secure parking for guests at each unit. Security beams make the area the property save.
The Gallery is managed and owned by a professional environmentalist worked in various countries and mining industries.
Franskraal, is located at the edge of the Danger Point Peninsula, an unpretentious quaint town. Franskraal has a long white sandy-beach crossing the mouth of the Uilkraalsriver, a known birding hotspot. The first row of houses at Franksraal is the entrance to a small but old milkwood forest. This "Melkhoutbos Trail" is open to the public. The trail is a circular route of 2km and it takes just about an hour to complete. There is also a historical small privately owned museum which has the largest collection of relics of the HMT Birkenhead that wrecked off Danger Point. There are also many other historical items. Within a 10 km radius Frans has the following to offer: Fishing Scuba diving and snorkeling Whale watching. Shark cage diving. Swimming (life guards on duty). Canoeing. Wind Sailing. Walking. Nature trails. Danger Point Lighthouse. Running, cycling. Golf. 4x4 mountain routes. Quad biking. Boat trips. Fishing boat and skipper can be hired. Bookings required. Restaurants Sports bars. Night entertainment in season. Shopping at two outlets, Spar and OK Foods. Souvenir shopping. Medical facilities.
