A quiet and secluded space surrounded by plants, with the sound of running water. Perched high on the hill it is still only a short walk into the village. A good place from which to base your explorations of the town and surrounding areas. An ideal crash pad if you're attending a function nearby! Please note this is a working pottery studio and consequently there are a lot of authentic touches - kilns, pots, buckets of clay and so on - please accept this as part of the experience!

A serious potter for over twenty years, I have also have been a schoolteacher, run a large business in Cape Town, and owned a farm in the Overberg. Currently I am involved in property. My interests are ceramics, photography, travel and sailing.

Riebeek Kasteel is one of the prettiest small towns in South Africa. It is easy to walk around the entire village in an hour or so. In the central area you will find the cafes and restaurants, the wine and deli and clothing and curio shops, and the art gallery. Many artists have settled in the town, and some of their studios can be visited. The climate is pleasant for most of the year, but can be seriously hot from December to February. It is an hour and fifteen minutes drive from Cape Town, close to all the wine routes in the Swartland and Boland areas.
