Zonnenstrahl is situated on the quiet outskirts of the picturesque village of Nieu-Bethesda and provides comfortable, affordable and stylish accommodation. The gueshouse can be reserved in its entirety for 8 guests and consists of 2 Units - Oupa Barend (3 - 6 guests) or Oupa Alph (2 guests). Oupa Barend is a self-catering home with 3 bedrooms with a full bathroom, large lounge with dining area, fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. Garden and patio with a braai. Oupa Alph has a bedroom & en-suite full bathroom with a lounge with a fireplace and French doors leading out onto the patio with a braai and garden. This unit DOES NOT have a kitchen but does have a microwave, bar fridge, cutlery, crockery and kettle. Zonnenstrahl Caravan park & Oupa Rendo Zonnenstrahl camping have 8 sites, Each camp site has access to power points, water points and braai facilities. The communal ablutions have 3 separate toilets and 2 showers. Oupa Rendo is budget accommodation in the caravan park sharing the the ablution block. It is a single roomed self-catering unit with a double and single bed. No kitchen but has a kettle, microwave and fridge and cutlery & crockery.
Elmaree, owner/manager is living in Cape Town. Elize and Japie is responsible for day to day managing and cleaning.
COMMUNITY Nieu- Bethesda, today is a peaceful village which attracts artists and intellectuals who live or holiday in this mountain-retreat where in spring the pear-tree avenue makes a golden highway and the white blossoms welcome the summer. The flourishing farming community patronises the Civic Centre every Saturday and the four tennis courts, badminton court and bowling green are in great demand. The OWL HOUSE is at present the main attraction. Learn the sad, yet inspirational story of Helen Martins and experience the legacy she has left behind. Like all country towns, the town of Nieu-Bethesda has a lovely church, a police station, a small general dealer, craft shops, coffee shops, and the Sneeuberg Brewery and the Fossil Centre. Please note Nieu-Bethesda has no petrol, bank or credit card facilities. Fill up your tank and your wallet before you arrive.
