I stayed one night before starting Camino primitivo. I loved the little bathroom and the bed was very cosy and comfortable. The location is very close to train station yet doesn't have the busy road feeling. Thankfully the hotel offers a garage, with easy-difficult entrance and easy-difficult space for steering into the parking space. Few cafés and restaurants in walking distance (Sidrería Siempre Otero Parrilla was my place to go for lunch as well as dinner, once with the Parrillada de carne plate, which filled me up totally the whole day).

A top floor apartment, really quiet but only minutes away from the market and restaurants in the old town. I was visiting my son who is studying in Oviedo and it was ideal for a short 3 day visit. Leonor and Pablo were super helpful with instructions and restaurant tips…the apartment itself was lovely. Very clean and a real winner. Highly recommend. The parking was an added bonus and just a short walk to get the car.

HOWEVER, walk five minutes to restaurant Monte Naranco. Dont order starters as the main courses are huge. I ordered a salad to start that was the size of a sunday dinner. The main meal was way too much. HUGE HUGE for 12 euros.

The breakfast was the best that I've had in Spain with home-made goodies and enough left over for lunch! The house/premises are just before Pola de Siero, coming on the Camino link from Villaviciosa, and well placed to break a long walk. The bedroom was spacious and peaceful with a good bathroom. This opens up the possibility to use the Pension as a base to visit the cities on the coast, like Gijon (30 min). The structure is new, very clean and the rooms are well illuminated and big enough. The bath is clean and the shower is great. To complete the experience, all the staff is super friendly and helpful. The host speaks a fluent English. I recommend it!LorenzoItaly
