Each of the bedrooms at The Grapes has been recently refurbished to provide all modern comforts required for a comfortable and relaxing stay, whilst still retaining their original period features. Real log fires provide an inviting and cosy atmosphere for the cold winter evenings.

The location is wonderful. The beer garden and terrace is lovely and is perfect for those long sunny summer evenings. Good selection of beers, gin and wine. The staff were friendly and attentive and always happy to make your stay perfect.

Excellent breakfast, served hot and fresh each day - we ate dinner on two nights, the food was always hot and tasty and good value for money, served by friendly and efficient staff. We stayed in a 3 bedroomed suite, it was clean and freshly painted - good quality linen and well equipped kitchen.

Richard was a very good host. Helpful, friendly and welcoming. He gave us some great locations for walks close by, which we would not have otherwise found. Great views from our room as we expected because we booked the mountain view room. Very comfortable bed. Warm room and hot water. Good set up with continental breakfast as take away or facility to eat in dinning room which offered more teas, coffee, microwave, plates ect.

Lovely staff, friendly atmosphere and great service. The room was great value but the TV didn't work properly unfortunately and didn't offer any streaming or ability to log in to our own service. Dinner quality was outstanding, really delicious. Only comment would be that the choice was limited largely to varieties of burger and a couple of other dishes, however all beautifully cooked. Would recommend and book again though

Lovely character building, welcoming staff, great surroundings, we had Room No 2 which is very large, front facing with a huge bathroom. Great car park too (down a steep drive next to the hotel but plenty of turning and parking space. We also had dinner which was delicious with very attentive staff.

Great find! We stay in this area quite a lot and wanted to have a change, we came across this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the hotel was warm and comfortable especially with dreadful weather that evening! , the dinner was excellent as was the breakfast. Can’t wait to stay in better weather!
