My stay at the George was great. The room was so comfortable, and it was handy being able to have dinner in the pub downstairs. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The Seagate is a 17th-century hotel situated in the village of Appledore, overlooking the Torridge estuary. It offers bed and breakfast accommodation in individually furnished rooms, with the inn serving real ale and cider alongside an extensive food menu with local seafood specialities.

Amazing location with a fantastic view of the harbour and of Instow opposite. Beautifully decorated, clean rooms with really comfortable beds and lovely additions including proper coffee and biscuits, lovely scented bathroom products, and additional snacks available for a small fee. Attached to a lovely pub with really friendly staff, and a great quiz every Sunday! Would return to stay here every time. We loved it.

Seaview room was excellent. One reason for my trips is have someone else do the cooking so I enjoyed all meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner which all quickly arrived .

Upgraded to an incredible family room with views on the 2nd floor. Service and staff were amazing - Kevin, Aiden and Paul Courtesy shuttle lifts into Croyd for dinner (thanks Paul). Love being able to borrow Dry Robes for the beach. The Spa and thermal room was incredible - beautiful view.

Room was surprisingly quiet as it was away from the street. The vegan breakfast was tasty and there were vegan options on the dinner menu too. Very convenient for the bus stop, which makes it a good base for walking that part of the South West Coast Path.

Hotel is very comfortable and facilities are outstanding, rooms are a good size. Breakfast included is a substantial full breakfast. We dined at the restaurant for dinner, which was also good. The gym and spa areas are great. Hotel is located with amazing views over Saunton Sands Beach. Close to fab golf courses too.

The room was well decorated and aspects had clearly been renovated to a good standard. The size of the bathroom and shower was excellent as was the quality of the fitments. We especially appreciated the inclusion of a fan given the fact it was a very hot day and the heat remained at night. The host was very informative and helpful. Many restaurants in the immediate area and even though the parking was on the other side of the road it was free courtesy of the inn.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was incredibly picturesque. Spa was great, with an adequate gym and 'thermal suite'. The dinner menu was a little plain and standard, ranging from burgers to lobster thermidor, but the preparation and presentation were excellent.
