Set in the village of Roslin, The Original Rosslyn Inn is an idyllic village inn, just 8 miles from Edinburgh’s city centre. This family-run property has a traditional pub and a fine dining restaurant.

The staff went above expectations to insure we had a great stay. Restaurant was exceptional. Neighborhood Lounge and bar was on premise. Bus stop at hotel entrance. Loved the thick walls and breakfast room decor. But the staff is what makes this an excellent place to stay. Location is about twelve miles out of Edinburgh and is in walking distance to Roslyn Chapel.

I liked the look and ambience of the public spaces and the food ( had dinner one night of my stay as well as breakfasts) was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times and a credit to the Inn. It was situated perfectly for my purpose to attend a family wedding. My bed was very comfortable and on the whole very clean.

The melville inn was an excellent place to have a meal or just to have a drink before going to our room. The bus service was excellent and within walking distance to the hotel. The hotel is set in a rural location but not far from any location.

As I stayed for one night only, I just needed a comfortable bed to sleep and a shower in the morning, so the room met my expectations. It was warm and clean and I liked big, soft, white towels in the bathroom. I also liked late dinner in the restaurant, the food was delicious.

The Hotel was very clean and cozy, decorated to a high Standard. The beds where very comfortable and so was the bathroom. There is a short ride to access Edinburg city Centre by car. The restaurant is beautiful and cozy and the dinner was tasty & lovely. The Breakfast option had a great selection. It came hot and plentiful.

I have no complaints or constructive criticism for this property. The room was well furnished, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. FYI: The restaurant next door is great for lunch and dinner, though maybe not the best value for breakfast.

We were expecting a Premier Inn, but the hotel far exceeded our expectations. It was only for one night but the decor and cleanliness were first class. Easy parking, friendly staff, and the restaurant slap bang next door. We are bikers, doing the NC500 so with a different hotel each evening. At the end of our trip, we rated each hotels food, and the breakfast at the Innkeepers FAR outweighed the other seven stops.
