There was a beautiful beach near by (Rigg Batmy) which kept the little one entertained and lots to do within a short driving distance. Including the Galloway dark sky park, deer range and st ninian’s cave. Garlieston is walkable or a super short drive and the hive cafe was excellent, including amazing cakes and toys and books to entertain our little one. The Harbour inn was also great.

My wife is a celiac and one of the hosts stood up early to get her a good collection of glutenfree items for breakfast. The room is very well equipped with things to prepare breakfast. The bathroom is very spacious and the shower is indeed wonderful (as also mentioned in the other reviews). The town is very cosy and offers good opportunities for a walk along the shore. The local pub, the Harbour Inn offers excellent dinners (and a good selection of drinks) at decent prices.
