Sam the lovely lady who run the pub\hotel was exceptional. She was very warm and welcoming. She went out of her way to make our stay most comfortable especially due to me being unwell on arrival. She took me to our room and said if I needed anything to let her know.even meals in my room. She was very caring and certainly added a personal touch which made all the difference to our stay. She was also very friendly as was her daughter Brooke and made conversation with us and enquired to my wellbeing whenever she could. They are truly an asset to the business and I would not hesitate to stay with them again.

Fond memories of our night at the Engine Inn. Mostly of the cheeky bartender and a couple on a getaway weekend. (Babs, you know i'm talking about you!) Food was great, company was great. Together with family, it was a good night in Holker!!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. It was a nice location as you can do a 10-12km walk up onto the scar to get views including Morecambe Bay. Lots of local products are used at the hotel and pub which is humbling. We enjoyed our dinner and breakfast here alot.

The hotel is lovely and the rooms are big, the staff are very friendly and the bar man Keiran (I think it's spelt that way) has a great character and reason we like going back (4 times now) . Also Jason in the dinning room is always friendly and polite. The food is lovely.

This Inn is in the middle of a refurb and I’d be interested to return and see the difference. We asked to swap rooms for a bay window view and there was no push back at all. Lady who welcomed us was very helpful and friendly. Only issue was the shower didn’t work but then they are refurbing. Price was good and breakfast was delicious so overall very pleased. Good luck with the refurb.

The food was lovely we had a Sunday dinner and nice breakfast. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Some nice touches such as hand-wash, hand cream, shower gel, apple juice and complementary biscuits. All local produce. The pub was cosy with a log fire and rustic feel. We had stayed in Scotland for weekend so was just a stopover to break up the journey home so was good for what we needed.
