The Anvil Lodge sits just off the main street, away from the hustle and bustle of the old market town, but an easy walk from pubs, restaurants and quaint shops.

The 17th-century Anvil Inn has the atmosphere of a traditional old English pub, with Real Ale, log fires and original beams.

Mike and his wife could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I enjoyed the experience greatly. I highly recommend it.

Excellent location, warm welcome from really friendly staff. Restaurant wasn’t open on Monday evening but we were directed to their sister hotel 20 minute walk away and had an excellent dinner enjoying a 10% residence discount. Good night’s sleep. In a spacious and comfortable room followed by an excellent breakfast in the morning. Great stay in a wonderful well situated hotel, very comfortable and excellent, friendly service. We will return.

The dinner was very good as was breakfast, the bathroom was across the landing from the bedroom. And we were in a separate building from the hotel.

The hotel is well situated on the riverbank. Breakfast and dinner were of a high standard and the waiting and kitchen staff could not have been more helpful in adapting dishes to suit dietary needs. A pleasant bar with a good selection of local beers.

Good location in town, views of the river from the room. Breakfast is served next door at the Malt House and we decided to have dinner there too l. Food really good. Room was warm and felt quite cosy. Last minute booking to add a night to a trip in Worcestershire on way home, so room with breakfast only £62.

The location, close to the Iron Bridge, one of the museums and not bad for the others, some walkable. The views of the Severn river, and how fast it flows and how much it rises and falls, were amazing. The food, both breakfast and we also had dinners there. The bathroom size and facilities, especially shower very easy to operate and effective.

Top drawer hospitality from Dawn and Danny at their lovely guest house. Dinner and breakfast were superb. A big fluffy bathroom towel better than most in fancy five star hotels of note.

We celebrated a special birthday with a 2 night stay in this beautiful guest house. The location is fantastic , a little away but within a walking distance to Ironbridge . It is very near the river and around the corner from the tile museum. There are 2 inns very close. We stayed in the Coach House and our room was very cosy, comfortable, airy and beautifully decorated. The hosts Sarah and James are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was delicious ! We couldn’t ask for more and we will be back !
