Set in Lyndhurst and with The Mayflower Theatre reachable within 16 km, The New Forest Inn offers a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. The property is around 16 km from Southampton Guildhall, 18 km from Southampton Cruise Terminal and 32 km from Ageas Bowl. Salisbury Cathedral is 32 km from the inn and Salisbury Train Station is 32 km away.

The breakfast options were plentiful and the food was excellent. There were local beers on tap. The menu is a gastro pub menu and the food was outstanding. Just be aware that the rooms are above a pub, so you will hear the “locals” enjoying a pint! It was, however, quiet by 11:00 or earlier. Manager, Rob, was most accommodating as were Hannah, Alicia, Verity and Kyle. We also enjoyed chatting with the housekeeper, Violette. The New Forest Inn was located near trail heads into the New Forest. Downtown Lyndhurst is a one mile walk and has many shops, food establishments and The New Forest Heritage Museum.

Really great pub/hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Had dinner on the first night (Friday), the food was superb and they had a singer on. Went for a king room and it was massive. Lovely walk in shower and Alice in Wonderland themed. Right on the high street so close to shops, cafes, bars & some great other restaurants (try the Thai).

Beautiful house in a beautiful location, a very warm welcome on arrival, the room was spacious, warm and comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious. If you are planning a stay in the New Forest please do not waste your money on a premier Inn, they are more expensive and no where near as nice. I would rate Kingswood cottage higher if I could. We will definitely be returning.

The location was great. Just off the main road but nice and quiet. Easy walk into the town. Nice pubs nearby for dinner. All the staff we talked with during our stay were wonderful. Always happy to chat to our children and couldn’t do enough to make our short stay really good. The pool was very welcome too.
