The Fountain Inn overlooks the River Medina and has harbour views from its al fresco dining area. It offers free Wi-Fi, a good breakfast and live music on most Friday and Saturday nights.

Located in West Cowes, only a step off the ferry terminal, the Fountain is also just one mile to Cowes’ seafront. The third President of the United States, Thomas Jefferson, stayed at the inn with his entourage after a state visit in 1789.

Great location. Excellent food and service. Fun and cozy atmosphere.

A traditional English breakfast is served in the Solent Suite restaurant each morning. There is an extensive dinner menu and wine list, and an outdoor terrace with barbecue offers al fresco dining in warmer months.

The hotel is well situated overlooking the Solent and its spectacular sunsets. The garden terrace area overlooking the Solent has been expanded since I was last there and is now almost tripled in size. The food menu has also been expanded and is good value for money.

The Union Inn is the oldest pub in Cowes, offering individually styled boutique rooms just a 5-minute walk from the bustling marina. It has a bar and a restaurant serving traditional home-cooked food.

Cowes ferry terminal is only 200 metres away, whilst many of the historic yacht clubs are also within a few minutes’ walk. Charming shops, pubs and restaurants surround the Inn.

It was close to town and the seafront. It felt like a ‘safe place’ as I was familiar with The Union. I have eaten and drank many many times as I live in Cowes.

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.

We brought our bikes over on the ferry, and used this inn as a base to cycle and walk around from. The room was nice and comfortable, we slept very well. The pub downstairs wasn't noisy in our rooms (although we only stayed Sunday-Monday so perhaps this would be different on another night), but the food was excellent both at breakfast and in the evenings.

Dinner was excellent, breakfast was adequate. It could be improved by a coffee machine and free access to juice and cereal. We went for the full English but had to ask for cereal and orange juice

My employer usually books Premier Inn for my occasional work trips to Newport. I ended booking this one and will ensure I return to Old Church House for its welcome, location, comfort and value.

Warm welcome from the staff, who couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Spotlessly clean rooms, delicious breakfast, excellent beer and homecooked food. Wish it was my local! This is an old traditional pub on a busy road, so there is some traffic noise and some of the furnishings are a little worn, but if you prefer character over a bland identikit hotel chain, then you won't go wrong staying at the Waverley Inn.
