The Miners' Inn in Mariposa was a compromise about an hour from Yosemite Valley. Splurged for a room with a hot tub, which was very nice after a day of hiking! Also, the rooms with hot tubs are next to the check-in and breakfast room.

Community balcony is a lovely place to enjoy an evening nightcap or morning coffee. Spotlessly clean. Towels are very plush and cooshie! Innkeeper and housekeeper were lovely. They were so generous, chatty, full of information about Yosemite and even invited us for dinner one night too. Breakfast was varied and delicious every day - lots of options. Beautiful views, big terrace, all rooms are comfortable and well furnished. Downstairs playground area is awesome for bigger groups. Host is very responsive. We arrived an hour or so earlier and they helped us with the keys. It is also quite close to Yosemite valley by car but also there are dinning options nearby as well as big grocery store. and there is enough space to park few cars. I can only recommend!!
