Pemba did her utmost to welcome us and make us feel at home. She cooked us a delicious, healthy gluten free porridge for breakfast and made us wonderful Indian food for supper, like prawn curry and butter chicken, as well as fresh local salmon. She gave us knowledgeable advise about the island, and a very special send-off the evening before we left. We felt very pampered! There are comfortable seating areas, inside and out, overlooking the bay. The hotel is not far from the pub, which has live local entertainment to join in on on Saturday night. A memorable experience.

Tofino
The Tofino Paddler’s Inn is perched on the waterfront of downtown Tofino. The building has a lot of character being around a 100 years old and the town’s original hotel.
The Inn has five rooms. We pride ourselves on clean, simple and funky accommodation for the traveler to stay and explore the area. Rooms are private with a shared kitchen and two shared bathrooms
I expected a regular hostel, but was met with something looking more like a hotel! The owners and staff were all super friendly, giving loads of tips on what to do in Tofino. The rooms were clean and tidy, just like the common area and kitchen. We were able to park our bikes in the backyard and also leave our wetsuits to dry in the drying room overnight, which was very kind! The location is also perfect: in the middle of "downtown" Tofino, with restaurants, shopping and grocery store nearby.

Unleash your inner adventurer and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of our surroundings. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the kitchen well-appointed, linens spotless and many little extra touches like tissues and high quality toiletries, tea, coffee, and bottles of water in the fridge. The breakfast buffet was always freshly stocked and attended by a staff member, and the owner came around at breakfast time to welcome and talk to guests. We also were able to reserve the free e-bikes and kayaks during our stay. This is an amazing bonus which made our stay in Victoria memorable. The Robin Hood is a classic Canadian motor hotel that has become an iconic part of the neighbourhood. Locals we met praised its commitment to high standards and great value for families. We will definitely stay there again when are next in Victoria.

The property is around 700 metres from Nanaimo Museum, 2 km from Nanaimo Bastion and 2.1 km from Newcastle Island Marine Park. The inn provides a sun terrace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available. Exactly what we were looking for. A nice, clean, comfortable room located near downtown and the harbor for a reasonable price with parking. A few semi-related tips. Neck Point Park is about 15-20 mins away with incredible views of the ocean and potential to spot marine life (we just missed a pod of orcas). Also the Save on Food in the Nanaimo suburb was the best grocery store we visited in the island/Vancouver/Calgary if you are cooking your own meals.

Suites were comfy and equipped with every thing you may need, the coffee machine was certainly a bonus for me. Location was excellent where it was in a walking distance to BC museum, Inner harbor, Fisherman’s Wharf, etc.
Great location, walking access to inner coastal paths, up&down from city, via Trestle Bridge.
The location was the best . We have stayed at the Helms Inn many times over the years and are never disappointed .
Loved this quaint historic inn with great art work (Emily Carr knock offs) and Tiffany lamps everywhere. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Location was perfect- in the heart of James Bay- and easy walking distance to downtown, the bay and Beacon Hill Park
Exceptional hospitality at the Inn. Stephen and Michelle are delightful and run the guest house to the highest standards. They could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was exceptional as others have written and the Inn has every comfort. We took out a double kayak for a paddle down the bay which was so peaceful and saw seals and nesting eagles.
Perfect peaceful oasis! Everything was perfect! It’s my second time there, and it won’t be my last. Nancy is an amazing innkeeper! She is kind and thoughtful, and her breakfasts are incredible! Thanks for everything! Looking forward to my next stay!
Location, good quality linens and towels. Innkeeper Susan was exceptional in her care and attention
The lodge was rustic and warm. Our room faced the ocean and had a private balcony with chairs. Every morning warm, fresh cinnamon buns were put ouut with the other breakfast options and in the evenings, warm cookies were available. The room had no additional features (ie. TV, coffee maker etc), but this was part of the charm and the all day coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar was excellent. The lodge also had access to a private beach which was beautiful and quiet. We would definitely stay here again!
The innkeeper is very friendly and accommodating. He showed me around and made things accessible for me. The rooms are very clean and look really nice, I was in the mini suite which looked like it had a fairly new bathroom, and the bed was comfortable. Loved the appliances in the room, a toaster oven, mini fridge, kettle, coffee maker, and a good TV.
Cute historic Inn. Nicely decorated lobby and room. Friendly staff are very helpful. Can walk to the harbor and downtown shops and restaurants.
