We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this cute, historic castle in the country. The owner of the castle/property was wonderful and showed some of the restoration they have performed while we were there. Our breakfast was served in our room by the host which was very nice. We loved our stay here!

One of the best laid out rentals I've ever stayed at. Fully equipped kitchen. Watching the stars from the hot tub. Close to lots of fun places and things to do. Beautiful decor. Above and beyond.

The location in the farmland was beautiful. Walks in the green fields with many sheep and cows. The accommodation was comfortable, good bed, quiet, sunny sitting room looking out over the hills. Walks on the coast are easily accessible and there are a number of good restaurants in Castle Douglas. We appreciated the hospitality of Irene, who was taking care of the guests.

We loved the hot tub being included. Beautiful views as soon as you look out the windows. The local pub needs to be visited, staff were lovely and so was the food. It had my favourite toiletries towels and bathrobes for using the hot tub. Our party had a dip in the hot tub which was 20 minutes of great fun. Every room had tasteful touches. The views from the sitting room are lovely and we saw red kites and fieldfares in abundance.

Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms had lots of space and in my case the bathroom was huge, with a decent sized bath and plenty of hot water.

The room was immaculate with a relaxing lounge with views across the countryside for guests. Fabulous hosts in Eric and Maggie - who could not have been more welcoming and generous with their time. And the breakfast...... superb! We could not recommend The Old Station House highly enough. Be sure to take the time to walk down the old railway line to the river. Well worth it.
