Allow a whole morning or afternoon at least - there's lots to see here. Actually there are also many fantastic hikes in nature, and Ali Pasha's castle, etc, so if you have time, stay here for one day and look around. Go early 8.30am for 9am opening. Perfect time to visit. Its so beautiful, surrounded by the sea. Take a picnic if you want to stay longer. It gets really busy by 11am,no parking its full up with coach tours. Wear trainers or trekky sandals for exploring the site. It was a really amazing place and lovely and shaded to wander around.

This is a very crowded attraction, with not enough parking spaces and zero enforcement in the (large) park: garbage is being discarded, and cigarettes smoked. Also, the tracks and map are not fully comprehensive, and it is difficult to orient on the recommended track. Would benefit from audio guides. Otherwise, a must-see attraction in your quest to discover Albanian archaeology, with a beautiful history of three epochs (Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine).

We did not event seen it, because we came there and they did not accept credit cards. We were four and the price is 1k Leky, we did not have so much local money and it did not seem to us to be worth for driving back to town to withdraw money and get back. If they accept card payment, we would visit it.

It is almost in a monopoly position because it is probably the only cultural place in the area. I liked the castle ruins, surrounded by laurel woods, its wonderful smell. The view is nice. Many turtles are very cute.

The owners speak good English. We also loved their Labrador and Golden Retriever. If you have an hour to spare and a car take the clockwise route from the hotel around Lake Butrint and come back to the hotel via the ferry.

The water pressure at the showers was great and sufficient for a big family. Regarding the location, this residence had the best of both worlds, because it was near Butrint national park and very near from the beach. The host was very helpful with every need we had regading the parking or our chek-in. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and definitely would return there a second time for our vacations.
