This is another absolute must for all ages (even hard-to-please teenagers!) as there is a lot to see. Allow a good couple of hours although you could certainly have a quick look within the hour. It is FREE although donations can certainly be given. The highlight for me is the Cyclone Tracy exhibit. There is a sound booth that holds about 10 people comfortably and it's dark apart from the light from the sprinkler fitting on the ceiling. They play an extract of the sound of the cyclone on one of the days and it goes for a few mins. I have been in there 3 times and I still come out with goosebumps. If you scare easily then I wouldn't recommend it but you can still see the rest of the exhibit (photos and the likes) and appreciate it for the disaster it was. There are lots of displays of wildlife (taxidermy in glass cases), boats, a gift shop, a cafe, a theatre (not sure what was playing, lol) and a display of Sweetheart's hide. Sweetheart is a massive croc (a male salty) that was captured many years ago after his appetite for outboard motors on small boats was proven insatiable and killed. His story is well documented at the display. The building is very modern so wheelchairs and the likes are very well catered for with ramps and so on, disabled toilets, etc.
