I spent one and a half days at the site - your ticket gives you entry for 2 days. Some of the burnt out buildings should have representations of the living conditions, similar to Freemantle prison. More social histories of the convicts. The site is beautiful and needs the dark/ugly side to be presented.

Cant recommend this place highly enough, my husband and i enjoyed the tours we did. The cafe is lovely, nice coffee and lovely food. Liked the gift shop too. Great for families or couples. Just a shame i could not do the Isle of the Dead Tour, as was undergoing renos. Comfortable shoes are a must as is warm clothing.

    WOW!!!

WOW!!! What an amazing place to visit, Great for young an old. So much history that isn’t taught in any school I’ve ever attended. We spent two days here and it still didn’t feel like enough. Loved it and couldn’t recommend a better place to visit.

Take a hat for the warmer weather and a beanie and scarf for the colder weather. being on the water the wind can get quite harsh in the colder months. The site is beautiful even though it's history is not. The gardens and the birds are so pretty and the walk is lovely. being able to go into the houses and buildings is great as it gives you the opportunity to see what things were like back then. If you go during the right season you are able to pick the fruit that grows on the trees in their garden they have set up. the purple plums are really delicious. the apples are cooking apples so do expect them to taste like your normal apples!

The location is superb for looking at all the spectacular sights around the Port Arthur region, short drives and a number of walks to look at coastal scenery. A walk along a track by the water to the Port Arthur historic site was an extra bonus.

Great location to reach Port Arthur Historic site. We were upgraded to a one bedroom unit, which was fully self contained; bed was comfortable. Nice to be able to eat in at the historic hotel’s dining room. Meals were slow, but very nice; worth the wait.

The room was bright and spacious overlooking the water. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel has a restaurant and bottle shop attached. The restaurant food was good, reasonably priced and the place has a lovely ambiance. Port Arthur historic site is only 5-10 minutes up the road. Overall we were very happy with our accommodation.

Location was excellent, the rooms were small but were just fine for us, The walls are a bit thin, could hear the people in the other room without them being over loud, but that's not the hotels fault. Rooms were well catered for with tea and coffee, shampoos and soap. I would definitely stay there again. Great if you are planning on seeing Port Arthur Historic Site as you are right on the grounds.
